Grupo de ilustrações que venho produzindo a partir das minhas lembranças e relação afetiva que tenho com as ruas e lugares da cidade em que nasci, Natal-RN.
Parece que o destino é sair daqui. Vez por outra vejo Natal como uma cidade abandonada.
Eu não queria sair daqui…
Eu queria saber mais, conhecer o passado, viver o que está escondido.
Uso os restos da cidade para ver o que foi, conhecer as histórias e lendas, o que aconteceu para ser o que é hoje.
Eu queria ter memória daqui, eu queria me bastar.
Mas eu não me basto sozinho.
Hoje eu pinto tentando registrar as coisas que eu vivi, as coisas que vi, será que vai adiantar de alguma coisa? Será que alguém vai prestar atenção? Ou será que vai se perder, como tudo se perde nessa cidade.
Acho que não, que eu não vivi sozinho, outras pessoas viveram e vão viver. Vou criar mais restos para que o mundo veja o que aconteceu, aqui não é pouco e nunca foi. Aqui sempre foi grande como um elefante!

Remains
A group of illustrations I've been producing based on my memories and the emotional connection I have with the streets and places of the city where I was born, Natal, RN [Brazil].
It seems like destiny is to leave here. Sometimes I see Natal as an abandoned city.
I didn't want to leave here...
I wanted to know more, to know the past, to experience what's hidden.

I use the remains of the city to see what was, to learn the stories and legends, what happened to make it what it is today.
I wanted to have a memory of here, I wanted to be enough.
But I'm not enough on my own.

Today I paint, trying to record the things I've lived, the things I've seen. Will it do any good? Will anyone pay attention? Or will it be lost, as everything is lost in this city.
I don't think so, because I didn't live alone; other people lived and will live. I'll create more remains so the world can see what happened. It's not small here and never was. Here it's always been as big as an elephant!
